GeoCiv, a regional consulting firm, has expanded capabilities that will allow offering RECON services (Report of Expected Conditions Online) nationwide. RECON: Geotechnical, Environmental, and Cultural Resources, provides buyers, developers, economic development districts, engineering firms, and municipalities with pre-purchase due diligence assessments for site selection prior to any commitments or real estate transactions.
What is RECON?
RECON (Report of Expected Conditions Online), is an early preliminary site study for Geotechnical, Environmental, and/or Cultural Resources that is used for planning, site selection, and estimating purposes.
RECON (Geotechnical) or commonly referred to as a REGC (Report of Expected Geotechnical Conditions), provides clients with an engineering report that assists with determining a site’s potential to support structures and sheds light on the potential subsurface of a site. This type of report distinguishes itself from on-site exploration and on-site geotechnical investigations, in its scope, cost, and level of detail. RECON’s primary role in site assessment is to provide early, pre-purchase or due diligence data that informs buyers of expected geotechnical conditions and assists with site selection, planning, and estimating.
Similarly, RECON (Environmental) provides clients with an engineering report that contains potential or expected environmental constraints, concerns, and conditions for a site.
RECON (Cultural Resources) provides developers and clients with information about a property regarding previously mapped cultural resources, surveys, and the potential for encountering cultural resources on the site.
